Strategic Angler Nautilus Fast Sinking

The Nautilus is the mid-sized Big Game lure in the Strategic Angler lineup.  Its large presence in the water is very effective in covering expansive areas since it has a thick body profile that can be seen from a distance.  Capable of handling treble hooks up to 5/0, this mid sized lure is very easy to work using simple retrieves, twitches or sweeps.  The lure has a length of 6.5″ and an average weight of 97.5g (3.5oz).  The lure has a horizontal sinking/suspending orientation with its water column placement dependent upon how long one lets it sink.  The lure can be swum with an alternating side to side swimming action during the retrieve.  The angler can also incorporate sweeps with the rod tip, making the lure kick wildly, making the lure swim like a fleeing baitfish.  Any retrieve speed can be used to get the best action out of the lure.  Also note that the Nautilus responds to retrieve speeds based on your hook selection.  Lighter hooks allow for a livelier imparted action, while heavier and oversize hooks are perfect for trolling on a flat line.  This lure can also be used with just a single tail hook and a very slow retrieve.  This will cause the lure to undulate randomly from side to side and up and down, so do a few casts with this single tail setup to see how your retrieve speed affects action.  The Nautilus Slow Sinking will sink on average at 1ft/sec (30cm/sec).
